Jim McElwain was asked this week if LSU and Alabama are the two best defenses he’s seen.
“Maybe the ’85 Bears,” the Crimson Tide’s offensive coordinator quipped. “These are two top of the line college defenses. As an offensive guy, that’s what you want to try to go against.
“That’s what it is. … Really, you want to challenge yourself against the best. I’ve been able to challenge myself against the best – Coach Saban and, obviously, this LSU defense.”
