No matter how this game ends I don't think we are the #1 team in the country and I don't see us winning the NC

Sorry friend, it started to look scary to me there with CSU driving and riding all that emotion and momentum .. Bama just looked asleep. Looks like we're back in it though. How about 2 more touchdowns please?!

3 straight games where either the off or def or both look like total garbage. I question if we can hold on this year without some serious improvement. I see it very possible for us to lose our number one spot this week .

A 31-6 win definitely keeps us from slipping in the polls. A 24-6 win keeps us at #1.

I dunno. If there were no preseason rankings .. would Bama have earned a number one slot after VA Tech? I think we're definitely up there but are we overall better than Stanford, OSU, Clemson, or Oregon? Who knows. The only team left I'm really concerned about is LSU but as we've seen tonight, any team can challenge us.

I hope to see improvement on both sides of the ball.

No, not because of one game. It's because of the intangibles of the games; the aura the team has when they play. The team simply does not have it; or at least not yet and you can feel it; or feel a lack of it. ElephantStomp probably feels it too judging form the previous comment. Now, this is not to say they can't generate it by season end, but of all the Bama teams in the Saban era... this is by far the most lacking at this stage of the season.
