Could still happen if the $$ is there. How much does either team make for a home game versus in Jerry World? If the game sponsor wants to pony up the money, it can happen.

Use to be a thing where stadiums would buy games from schools. I think Birmingham bought a miss state home game once. Others.

On another note, can remember double headers at Legion Field...1968 Alabama played LSU in the pm and *aU played the viles at night. 1973 Alabama beat California 66-0 at night, preceded by *aU win vs Oregon State in the pm.
