🏈 Alabama and the Hokies........

ESPN College Football Live touts Virginia Tech as a possible contender for the National Championship- Alabama has a little something to say about that.

I think the Kickoff Classic will be a defensive struggle from the opening kickoff- I wouldn't be surprised @ a 17-14 final score.

I look for Alabama to offset "Beamer Ball" by being very steady in special team play, and to use weapons like Javier Arenas to change field position- I also think that our defense will be every bit as strong as the Hokies defense- A turnover deep in one team's territory may be the difference.

A Bama win and all of a sudden, the NC talk turns to Alabama- A great debut by Greg McElroy would set the tone for his entire season, and if our OL can gel during the pre-season, I think our running game can give us a strong means of controlling the clock, and wearing the Tech defense down.

17-14.....you heard it here first- Alabama starts a great run in 2009 @ the same place they started the great season in 2008.

BFL. :a:

I suspect a low scoring game as well. The key for Bama is going to be Mc. You know VT is going to do all they can to stuff the run and see if Greg can make some plays. If Greg can make some plays and get the ball to the WR's the running game should open up. Also, our OL will be key to give him the time to make those throws, as well as open up holes for the RB's. But it could come down to a FG or punt return block punt or something. Beamer's teams are very sound in the special teams dept. so we will have to be on our game for that as well.

Beamer ball smeamer ball. Va tech barely beat an average team to win the ACC. Bama barely lost to a great team to lose the SEC last year. This however is not 2008. And Bama ain't no Acc pansie! RTR!
