I have an uncle that was paralyzed from the waist down in a car accident back in 1980. After some time at Spain Rehab, he went to the Lakeshore Foundation and found his “groove”. He had become depressed and Lakeshore opened up a lot for him. He played basketball competitively for several years, lifted weights, and eventually got into air rifle competition and competed for the US in one Paralympic Games and was an alternate on another. Wheelchair basketball is a lot like a demolition derby on 2 wheels!
