Lets see a show of hands of those of you that were at Coach Bryant's last home game vs USM in 82. I don't see me hands. USM beat us good. My wife and I seats were very near the tunnel leading to the Bama locker so we stayed to watch Coach Bryant make the walk. The man looked to be a hundred years old that day. I believe the result from that game weighed heavy on his decision weeks later to retire. He was great.
“The old lessons (work, self-discipline, sacrifice, teamwork, fighting to achieve) aren’t being taught by many people other than football coaches these days. The football coach has a captive audience and can teach these lessons because the communication lines between himself and his players are more wide open than between kids and parents. We better teach these lessons or else the country’s future population will be made up of a majority of crooks, drug addicts, or people on relief.”........Coach Bryant
He's right you know...
