AJ McCarron traded to Oakland (Vegas) Raiders

McCarron gets a signing bonus of $4 million, and he's also guaranteed to receive his 2018 base salary of $900,000, the report said. The 2018 portion of the contract also includes a $100,000 workout bonus, which is usually tied to attendance at the team's offseason program, making it money that McCarron is virtually certain to earn.
Right now, the second season of the contract calls for a $1.9 million base salary, with $1.1 million guaranteed if McCarron is injured and can't play. If McCarron is on the Bills' roster on the third day of the NFL's 2019 business year next March, he'll collect a $3 million bonus. McCarron's contract also contains a $100,000 workout bonus for 2019."

So i guess the idea is to get another doc to say you are good to go so that you can get more bonuses?? I guess if team doc says you are done...then you are capped at what you can do and therefore will earn less? Would that be the motivation to get another Doc to look at you....kind of the same deal as with the Bengals?

That doesn't have anything to do with it. He'll be healthy enough to play, even if it is broken, long before the 2019 season gets here. His 2018 salary is fully guaranteed whether he plays or not.

Correct me if I am wrong but this is the same shoulder he hurt his last year. I am hopeful he can get back into the race for the starter but the rookie looks pretty good. Cleveland was coming with an attacking defense from the kickoff vs the Bills. The Bills OL got their azz handed to them in that 1st Qtr.

I'm not aware of AJ having a shoulder injury last year. It really doesn't matter who starts this year because I guarantee at least two QBs start during the year. The QBs are going to get killed because of that line. I have no clue why the decided to pretty much get rid of their whole line in the off season.

I didn't word that very well...I meant his last year at Bama......with that OL no matter the QB selected to be the Man the others better be ready

I always thought AJ was a perfect backup QB. Kind of a shame he was behind red rocket over in Cincy during all those healthy years... But that's the way it goes. Looks like he's headed towards that career backup role which is a not so bad... Carr may get dinged and he'll get a chance. RTR

hell, he could take his bonuses/guaranteed money, build a damn nice house down in mobile and just have a good life; living and having fun at the beach/lake.

Could him and Coker exist in the same town?

born 2 years apart in same town
went to same high school school
both played/started at Alabama
both won a national championship at Alabama

they're pretty much the same person....so they probably do whether they realize it or not, lol.

either way, the city of Mobile has to be proud of 2 of its sons doing great things for the state.....or half of it, anyway ;)

So no chance of working into a starting position there. Derek Carr starting, with Connor Cook and EJ Manuel as backups.

While I believe he's better than both Cook and Manuel and can beat them out for the #2 spot, it's looking more and more like he's going to end up being a career backup. Unless of course, Carr just falls apart this season.

Cook was released. So he will just be fighting with Manuel for backup. AJ vs EJ.

When was Cook cut? Coz he was still listed on the roster when I posted that a few hours ago...

Not entirely sure, just saw it on the bottom line during our game.

Well that would make sense if they cut him DURING our game, considering I posted that like an hour or so before kickoff.
