MOBILE, Alabama -- A day after South Alabama's football team lost a one-point game for the third time this season -- a 17-16 loss to Arkansas State at Ladd-Peebles Stadium -- Alabama and Mobile native quarterback AJ McCarron sent along a message to the Jaguars' team:

"S/O to South Alabama Fball team for a awesome year so far. I know there has been tough losses but stay to the grind & they will turn to W's,'' was the Tweet McCarron sent out Sunday night.

McCarron and his Alabama football team, which had an open date on Saturday, found out Sunday it is still the top team in the country in the BCS rankings and all other major college football polls.

The Crimson Tide plays highly rated LSU this weekend while South Alabama, 3-5 overall, has an open date before traveling to Navy for its next game on Nov. 16.

I am trying to get a job in Alabama in the next year (specifically at a university) and if I can't get one at UA (I already tried twice haha), USA is also on my radar! It seems like a great up and coming school and program, and I like the Mobile area (I have been to Daphne and Fairhope).

I want to be in the study abroad/international study field, I currently work at Arcadia University up here in the International Affairs office. I am an assistant at the moment, hoping to work my way up to an advisor or program coordinator :tennis:

The campus is GORGEOUS but if you cant get on there try Troy. They have a great campus too and pretty decent football program.

Troy looks awesome, they have a Confucius Institute on campus (as a Chinese minor who studied abroad in China, this appeals to me haha) and seem to have a good study abroad program as well. Will definitely keep it on my radar come next year when I gotta start applying to jobs again, thanks Birdman!! :tickled_pink:

My daughter that lives in Dothan graduated from Troy. She is an elementary teacher, but has only had a job year to year. There are so many teachers out of jobs right now. It's sad.

Where does she teach? Yeah my mom is a special ed teacher, graduated from Troy too. If a teacher doesnt have tenure they're so much at risk at being fired its not even funny, and it doesnt help when the governor gives tax money to private schools when public schools are being screwed over constantly. Teachers get paid crap and never get the things they need to actually teach and ppl wonder why public education is so screwed up and nobody wants to be a teacher anymore.
