šŸ’¬ Aight. I'm not posting this because of the "trans" issue, it's the post and what is says.

About time it became ok to say this is not right and you not get pounded by the media until you conform. I believe each should compete against each other so create another league for folks that believe in that. About as fair of a way as I see it. They do not have to be discremenated against but they also do not get to unfairly compete against the opposite gender.

I’m not going to get on about trans people or anything, but I’m an avid disc golfer and this much ado about nothing, ā€œprotestā€ it and record it and post it to get views and clicks. Disc golf isn’t like other sports where strength, size, etc matters much nor is it a sport where men have a distinct advantage, I play with dudes that are strong as horses and regularly get their asses kicked by women.

I've just, casually, picked up interest over the last few years. A member here competes though I'm not sure how his "league" is set up.

The county has a park that's about a half of a mile from the house and they have a course I've played several times. Well, attempted to play. If it's not a real thing, then people have been playing a game for centuries that isn't a real thing either: billiards. In both cases it takes a skill to manipulate an object; be it a ball or disc. (Park has bike trails, water park, you name it...not bad for $30 a year.)

This was intended to be about the game...since you've weighed in. šŸ™ƒ

If you put a man and woman, of equal skill, throwing a disc, the man will win every time. There is a distinct advantage in upper body and core strength. This is negated very often by skill. Much like the game of golf. But, at the core, there is an advantage.

You could literally say that about any sport just about.

$30 a year? That’s a hell of a deal. I didn’t say it wasn’t a real thing, the sport itself is great.

Skill wins out every time without a doubt. A man and woman of equal skill, in disc golf there wouldn’t be an advantage unless every hole was super long, so again it would go back to skill and whichever person could finesse the disc.

The reason I posted this thread was the guy saying it wasn't a real thing. Ya know, the original post in the thread? šŸ™ƒ

Yeah, it's a hell of a deal. I paid the annual before they built the course just for the bike trails. I've been in a canoe quite a bit out there. The dog park is over an acre. Around five miles of trails at the one about a half of a mile from me, the north side of the park has over 20. The fee covers several courses around town.

I'd have to look to be sure. I want to say the course up the street has 14 (give or take one) 3 pars and the rest are 4 pars. At that course, skill would compete with strength. The course that's one one of the Islands (either James or John's, can't remember which one it is) is split evenly into thirds: six 3 pars, six 4, and six 5 pars. Strength plays more into that course than skill: just like you said, because of the length.

In my world there's a lot about the two sports—golf and disc golf—that are similar to each other. Time is the biggest difference. (No, I lied. The cost of equipment is the biggest difference.)

The dude saying it’s not real is a moron.

That’s one of my favorite things about visiting my girlfriend in Colorado. There’s a place that has a golf course, disc golf course, three indoor pickleball facilities, and 11 outdoor pickleball facilities (plus four tennis facilities), but the yearly rate is much more than the place where you are. There are bike trails all over (not a surprise for Colorado). Funny story about this place- I was at the Trek store on the grounds to get a tubeless tire fixed on my hardtail mountain bike and some dude and I start talking mountain biking, can tell the dude looks familiar for some reason, but no idea who it is, he’s telling me about the local trails committee and about Bentonville, Arkansas and their mountain biking, anyway guy says ā€œhope to see you on the trials and at trail meetings sometimeā€, the bike tech looks at me and says ā€œby the look on your face you’ve got no clue who the hell that isā€ and I tell him ā€œnot a clue, am I supposed to?ā€, anyway turns out the guy is Bo Nix, thought that was cool.

There's a gazebo that sits on the east side, back side of one lake overlooking Charleston Southern's football field, football practice field, soccer practice...and as of about five years ago their mini-disc course (six holes.) I've sat out there for years having a beer and a smoke when I just wanted to "get away" for a bit.

Several years ago Pat was coaching at CSU. I don't know how many times I watched their practice with Bo and his brother tossing the ball around on the sidelines.

That’s awesome. I don’t know why, but I thought Bo might be a dick and maybe if you harass him for a pic or to sign something he is, but standing there talking about mountain biking he was the nicest guy, didn’t seem offended that I had zero clue who the hell he was. The bike tech was offended that I didn’t know.

There's a difference in not knowing and I don't give a damn. I've had lunch with Pat and didn't bring up football. He was sitting at "Willie Jewels" and we started talking. Pat would know me today but couldn't tell you what my name is...never introduced. We just talked.

I saw Gabe grabbing some pork about an hour ago...no idea what they have going on this week.
