šŸ“” Agiye Hall was arrested Thurs night (suspended indefinitely.)

Coaches will often overlook any problems if their athletic ability helps them. Coaches very well could’ve lied to Saban and staff about his character.
Would you trust Jeff Banks to give an honest assessment of a player to Saban?

Considering Hall was at five different high schools—so, five different coaches—who do you go to? I have to give Banks a faux pass because that's difficult; who can give you an honest read on Agiye? However, that's his job.

I wouldn't go to Jeff Banks for character assessments in any circumstance.

Agiye isn't the first recruit with this type of "misevaluation". Sometimes kids can't handle the transition from HS to College. Even when the Athletic Department controls a lot of their life, they still have a lot of leeway to make their own decision and some just don't make the correct ones. I don't necessarily fault any coaches on their recruiting evaluation of this... as I would say our hit/miss rate is better than most schools.

When you look at Hall, and then look at Billingsley, and see who was recruiting them? We start to see "circumstantial evidence," if you will. (Add Enos in with Jahleel and you have two head cases as recruiters: good football coaches, but head cases in life.)

The belief these two could continue with their BS is a primary factor in both following Banks to Texas. That belief is something Banks fostered. When it comes to personal responsibility and whether we could find it in Jeff Bank's life? Let's ask his abandoned children.

They probably teach P.E.

Knowing what I know now about Banks, the answer is Hell No!!! Same for Enos!! I always told my players that when it came to colleges, they had better make sure they carry themselves well off the field as well as they do on the field. Coaches will check with administration as well as counselors, checking on character and grades. Even then, you will have those that try to ā€œgloss overā€ any issues.
As for Hall and his 5 HS, Banks likely listened to the last coach and may have taken Hall’s word for reasons for leaving the other 4. I would look directly at the common denominator in all of the cases, Agiye Hall.

Hey now!!! I resemble that remark!šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
Coaches will often overlook any problems if their athletic ability helps them. Coaches very well could’ve lied to Saban and staff about his character. Some will lie, thinking that they are actually helping the kid. I saw that firsthand!!! Had to get up and leave the room to keep from vomiting in my mouth! After the coach left, I had to ask, ā€œwhy in the Hell did you say that he was a good kid?ā€

Ahahahaha, as soon as I saw that I knew you'd respond. Funny.

I couldn’t leave it! I never had many college coaches come talk to me, but I always shot them straight. If they were good kids, I let them know and if they were problems, they often weren’t around for colleges to ask about them. I couldn’t stand a cancer in my program.

Which one?

Yeah - I think it's safe to say his high school Coach/s didn't lead poor ole oblivious Nick Saban and his unwitting staff down the dark ally of a missed evaluation. If 5 high school's isn't a flashing caution sign, I don't know what is.

The dude is/was super talented and got more opportunities because of it... That even happens at... Alabama. I think CNS could do a great job working with these types of kids, this time it didn't end well.

Part of the reason he took the chance lines up with part of the reason he hired Jeff Banks in the first place.

You hear Saban talk about personal gratification, goals fulfilled, a lot with players. It's a mind set being proud of what you have done and continue to accomplish the same. Pride in personal success, openly, sums it up.

Along with work ethic that's one of the things Saban values in hires. Banks had that and had a resume with special teams to prove it. I can see why he was hired as well I seeing him pitch "I've got this, Coach."

There are a lot of misses in this story from Hall himself, to discovering who Banks really is among those. Adding in Covid restrictions on staff members?
