...guys, we do not have the luxury of being the underdog, Cinderella, or the team that "shouldn't be there."

What we have, at this point, has been earned. Enjoy it, own it, and don't be one of those that shyly moves around the subject when dealing with rivals.

In bad times you've been proud of your team...now, in good times, for goodness sakes take a minute and enjoy where we are, will ya?

I swear, some seem like they are almost embarrassed to be sitting at the top of the FBS.

I can see where most people don't want to start the "Bama's back" too early, but let's face facts. This team has been through a lot of **** over the years, taking a lot of humiliating losses and seen their team's name pulled through the mud on a yearly basis....YET, as Terry pointed out, they are sitting on top as of now. Let's treat those guys with respect and start giving them some much deserved praise!!!

ROLL TIDE!!!!

That's exactly what I've been doing. We've earned it. The team has earned it. We've taken a lot of crap from every direction and every fan base. Certainly some deserved.
I am a bit gun shy though. Hard to forget all the let downs in such a short time.
Even so I'm damn sure enjoying being the best team in the nation at this point. There's more of this to come. The process continues.

They just run like roaches when the lights are turned on (when they see me coming). Phone has not been flooding with text or calls this year(so far)...except...Dang, Bama is looking tough,or Bama just whooped our arses (UGA fans). I had gotten use to it over the last 6-7 years. :D

Respect is earn, I'm not embarrassed about anything, but I also know sitting at #2 or #1 what ever todays poll turns out to be. Doesn't really mean **it. We keep winning games that's the bottom line. Am I enjoying it hell yea, but doesn't mean going to talk smack. I think Coach Stalling said it best. "We've won 10 games and haven't won anything yet". That's the way I see us 6-0 and haven't won anything yet. Great to be 6-0, but the reality is we have a lot a work ahead of us.

I like the way you think, lets just take one game at a time and not get ahead of ourselves and we should be fine.

Uh-oh, am I in trouble?

I don't get embarassed...I just get too nervous. I'm not proud of it, but you know my stomach will be in knots come Sat.

Same here Delta, I think the Miss game is a trap game for us. We have everything to loose and they have everything to gain. We had better be ready to play outstanding football from here out. We have a huge target on our back. It's called being #2 in the nation. More burden, than a gift, but a burden worth bearing.

I swear Houston Nutt measures his season by the Bama game every year. That man must be a heckuva motivator in the locker room prior to the Tide game. I'm just hoping we keep our noses down this week and don't give him any fodder like LSU did to Florida.

That's what I've heard great speaker. He has given us fits before, I hope we're ready to do battle.

Does this mean I should stop rooting for all of our past opponents to win to "validate" our standing?

From what I've observed from Houston Nutt's teams in the past, what he's put on the field in Sept. didn't match up with what he fielded in October.

I'm not discounting what he is fielding or what he's going to be able to do at Ole Miss.

The last 7-8 years we are either winning by 3 points or the game is a blowout with Ole Miss (we've received one of those as well.) This year, to me, seems like a repeat of what we saw in '04, '02 and '00.

Judging from what I've seen this season, and I've seen all of the top teams play several times, if we play our game NO ONE can beat us. And I make it a point to tell rival fans this very thing.
