šŸˆ Academic notes on #Alabama signees (Early enrollees in, Foster due end of the week) UPDATE with new

Wide receiver Robert Foster isn't joining the group starting their collegiate careers in Tuscaloosa; yet.

The issue with qualifying is with online courses in high school. The good news is it was looked in to and all the courses he was credited for were also available to the other kids at his school.

The other news, not necessarily bad but we are dealing with the Clearinghouse here, is he hasn't been officially cleared. Tomorrow will be the opportunity for those in the NCAA offices to review his situation.

Considering this is the summertime and there are fewer cases for them to review now than there will be in a few weeks we should hear news on Foster fairly quickly.

And another I forgot and realized looking over the commit list for the 2013 class.

I don't know what J. Cook's (instate CB) situation is other than...shaky? I know he's not expected with the guys coming in for the summer.

And now another jumps out at me. But, he's in a different category than the rest.

Averett, safety prospect from the NE. I say different because the graduation dates in the north are usually a few weeks behind those down here. One thing that came to mind last fall was Sandy and if it would have any effects on Anthony's classes. If you recall he committed in the spring of 2012: April maybe?

I realize Sandy was at the last of October, but even still missing a few weeks in November throws everything off schedule. To be honest, I can't recall if his fall was thrown off track—classroom time—by Sandy. All I recall is he is from NJ and there's a possibility his town didn't get a lot of damage. Then again, one could live on the W side of NJ and they're still 50 miles from the coast.

I'm trying to separate subjects and players here for easier reading/responding/comments/questions.

Kids on campus:

OFFENSE:
Hill - OL
Stewart - WR
Jones, Kamara, Tenpenny - RB

DEFENSE:
Jackson, Smith - CB
Allen, Robinson, Liner - DL (Allen possible LB)
Foster, Williams, Jones - LB

There's 13. We had seven come in for last semester: 20. The four mentioned: 24.

I'm missing two...

New boys reported yet?

Does anyone know if the fresh meat has reported to campus yet? If so, does anyone know if they've gotten their numbers for this Fall yet? I know the early enrollees have, but just haven't heard much about the new incoming freshmen. I know Georgia's have reported, but wasn't sure about our boys.

Excellent, thanks for the information fellas. Kind of worrisome hearing about Robert Foster not coming in yet. I was thinking he'd be able to take the reigns from Amari Cooper and just flat out open everything up deep, on both sides.

Foster has posted on Instagram the NCAA Clearinghouse is finished and he'll be with the team shortly.

Reports: Alabama WR signee Robert Foster set to enroll at UA

One of Alabama's top signees in the class of 2013 is expected to be academically cleared in the coming days. Multiple recruiting websites are reporting that Monaca, Pennsylvania wide receiver Robert Foster, who signed with the Crimson Tide in February, is expected to be academically cleared by the NCAA sometime next week, allowing him to enroll for the university's second summer session.

BamaOnline
reports that Foster, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound receiver rated the No. 1 receiver in the nation by 247Sports, is still awaiting official word on the results of a class but cites sources close to Foster saying that the elite star is expected to be cleared next week in time for summer registration at Alabama on July 2. TiderInsider and TideSports.com also confirmed that Foster is expected to be cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse.

Foster, who played in the Under Armour All-American Game in January, chose the Crimson Tide over the home-state Pitt Panthers after a senior season that included 756 yards and 14 touchdowns as a receiver as well as 549 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground.

Story on Tidesports today, according to which he needs two points on the ACT OR an online course (needs 80) he took as "insurance" against not getting the two points. If accurate he should be O.K.
