During Saban's tenure at 'Bama I have simply come to learn that nobody is as fanatical about the success of this team as he is (see TF QB half-time start as exhibit A). Once I was able to grasp that... it made things a whole lot easier when dealing with loses or close games etc.
And we are certainly spoiled with the notion of winning over these years. There is now a whole new generation of kids with double digit ages that have comprehended at least 1 or 2, maybe 3 national championships in their lifetime. The have ZERO clue what it is like to live like it otherwise unless they are part of another fan base. So let's be frank, those turds have had it good & there are no signs of it slowing down.
I've forgotten what it is like to just fathom the surreal possibility of playing in the game or much more winning it. I remember that feeling back in '92 that NC team (my first NC experience as a fan). It was one of those almost out of body experiences. Heck, even the '09 Rose Bowl was magical! Now, when we are in the mix for the game or even as the game has progressed I've had the the notion, that Saban & Co are the best at putting us in a position to win & I'm good with it. When we lost last year in the last second, I even had a peace that was like, "Damn, those boys needed every bit of the clock to eeek out a win our boys." It happens.
But now, to see this team after all the injuries, all the plays, & to fight a Jawja team that is almost a spitting image of us & still pull away with a win using a TF QB at half time... I N C O N C E I V A B L E!!!!
We got it good y'all... I could not have even imagined an experience like this as fan base.
