I have lived through the Bear and now Saban. I am in awe of what Saban has done and is doing and I think most bama fans are. I think most of us if not all dread the day he retires. That does not sound like lack of appreciation to me. Maybe there are a few nuts out there but I believe most of us appreciate the heck out of Saban. Seams like the silly season to me...

It's true enough that it can get silly around here at times because some struggle to find the middle ground in a conversation. It's especially silly and somewhat stupid to hear the hometown media talking in the same extremes. Now, this dipstick supposes to sum up Bama nation as if he went home with all of us. I truly hope coach Saban and the players do exactly what they say they do during the season and turn it off and keep it off. It's the perfect counter solution for Aaron and those of his ilk.

They say this shit because, in our last few big playoff/ championship games we have been badly out attended by the teams we play. I would contest that they don't understand what it is like to pay for tickets like that every year, with travel hotels and the price gouging involved. I have been to a few and do pretty well in my business but I can't justify dropping that kind of change every year when I have 4 kids who need, cars and college and stuff... just doesn't make financial sense. Knowing this my problem, I am sure other people are the same way and others are just priced out completely.

Not showing up to bowl games, title games and such is not a true measure of our appreciation as a fan base but in my opinion that is part of what they are basing their opinion on. Nobody who is not us, understands this problem because they have never experienced it or can imagine that it would become a problem.

I listened to the entire interview live yesterday and didn’t read anything strange into the comment. Our fan base, me included, does have almost impossible expectations for CNS and staff. Sometimes, I am embarrassed at a few of my posts during the games. We do not lose very often but when we do, “the end of the world mentality” comes out. Read through the Auburn game thread for example. Bottom line, we, all of us, need to rally appreciate what we see with this dynasty since CNS’s second season at Alabama.

Its a neutral site opener.....thats 500-800 in Atlanta...Orlando is more...Dallas even more...
Its...Season tickets....1600-2000...
Plus cost ......if outta town... lodging...travel...food...etc
Its SEC CCgame.....plus lodging, travel...
Its 2 bowl games...plus travel..plus lodging...plus plus..
So...a normal fan.....you have spent a ton of $$$$$$
....if its ur first shot at a NC in 35 years... may sell the farm to do it....like UGA

And it would be like that anywhere.and there s nothing wrong with these expectations...
..for example.....at UT..they had excellent success frm mid 90s to early 2000s..Their HC had one of highest winning % in CF..couple f mediocre seasons..and they canned the Fat one... for a younger, more sexy model...10 years later?????..
