What is she going to do? Drop the belt and let them have a contest WWE style? That doesn't build any suspense for her return, but losing, then returning after a long break for her rematch? Money, money, money.

Fight was fixed. Every time a champ takes time away from the sport they drop the belt. MMA,boxing, it doesn't matter. Huge money loss when the champ doesn't fight.

Perfect set up. Three fights within a year, filming a movie, blah, blah, blah. I don't think holms was in on it and probably not the ref, but Dana White was. It also gives Rousey a chance to dodge fighting cyborg. Who I honestly think she is scared of. Now she can take her year off, pursue acting and come back to MMA if that fails.
