🏈 A small complaint

about the officials again. We dominated on the field and it was great to see the O click and the defense was outstanding considering all of the shuffling that was going on. That being said, we had a couple of penalties that weren't! The AC push off, oh excuse me, the pass interference. What a crock! There were others but I somehow can't remember 'cause Capt. Morgan was distracting me. The point is, there was some on us that shouldn't have been and there was some on Tenn. that should have been but wasn't. OK, off my tide box now.

I recall a false start at one point too where the lineman (can't recall who but it was on the right side) didn't move an inch upon replay.

And what was up with AJ being called for holding that one time? Wasn't it actually Yeldon?

As usual, meh SEC officiating.

I didn't have too many complaints, but I did disagree with a few. I felt like the push off on Cooper should have been a no call as well. I also felt like there should have been a late hit when Christion Jones reversed fields and the defender rode him a little too much.

Not horrible, blatant calls...just calls that I would have been a whole lot more pissed about if the game was closer.

Meh, it was a pretty fairly officiated game. They made mistakes on both teams IMO. Missed a hold on Shepherd, missed a block in the back on UT. Of course Amari's offensive pass interference was horse shit. I just pray we don't get Ritters crew for the LSU game.

I've called some Pee Wee football games, so I'm hardly a ref, but that experience did tell me that it's a tough job. I honesty don't think refs have an agenda but I do know how easy to miss something in the midst of so much going on... It's been my experience it usually evens out...

My dad has been a baseball ump for over 40 years and he says it's one of the toughest, most thankless jobs out there. He's received death threats before, and has been attacked, and has been followed to his car (he often umps state tourneys and championships, so emotions can run high). He carries a metal bat in the trunk of his car. And he's considered one of the best in the state.

Take last night's Red Sox-Cardinals game, with the controversial ending. That was a judgement call and dad says he got it right, but remarked how tough it is to try and make the best decision in such a fast paced and high stress moment (without replay like viewers get). Especially during a game like the World Series.

They may not be the most loved guys in sports but I do believe refs and umps and officials do the best they can to be fair and accurate. Sometimes I may see things through my Crimson colored glasses though ;)
