šŸˆ A question to us..whats the value of having season tickets

Just got my notifications to pay season tickets....
Ms50+ and my self were discussing...
Tide pride...640
Tickets ...920
$1560 for lsu, tn, ark, ms....plus 3 non conference game vs ...well you know
30 x7 parking reserved....$210
1200$ for secured season camping..
.....almost 3 gran..... good seats...E west side
I know it depends on income and interest ... but this sure seems like a ton of money for 4 sec games... + these non conf games....
And offered Duke lowers for200$ each......
...just thoughts?

I have no problems paying my $960 Tide Pride and another $990 for tickets, because I know I am in the gates when I want to be. It allows me to have that one on one time with my kids and get them to a game and spend an entire day with them alone. Getting that one on one time is difficult with four kids, so it's a chance to have a special day tailored to them. I would love to get four, five, or six together, but that hasn't been offered and I'm sure that price tag will have me second guessing some things.

I know if I get into a financial pinch I usually have two games or so a year I could sell to make my money back, but I prefer to donate them to those that aren't always as fortunate or those in need. The Duke game? No way I'm paying $200 a ticket when I can find them for $50 each day of.

It seems the gap is closing amongst teams, so we are seeing a little more competition now than we have in the past number of years, so these games should be good ones. I say that meaning we destroy them, but atleast they come in with better records and teams and the build up is better,

I have sold my option for tickets before. Charged an additional $100. The person buys the tickets and I keep my ticket rights as well. I can choose when I want to go or stay home. I always park in town for free and take 1 of the family with me, my better half, my daughter to 1 or 2 games, or my soon to be senior son. It's either a date, daddy-daughter time, or father-son time. You can't beat it.

If you only look at it from a cost standpoint, you'll be disappointed. Let's change the perspective: If it costs $3,000 for seven games, that comes out to $429 per game ($214 per person). Actual games last about three hours so that's $143 per hour ($71.33 each). That's about $1.19 per per per minute. You can get some of that back if Mrs. 50+ doesn't go. Where can you go to get that type of entertainment for that price? If you spread the cost over a wider timeframe (tailgating, catching up with friends, spending Crimson-time with Mrs. 50+, enjoying the atmosphere, people watching, etc.) the cost comes down.

All those things. You mentioned is what makes cost worth it...plus what @BamaFan334 said....

50+, I understand where you're coming from. With all the games on TV in HD and my very own bathroom 10 feet away, I enjoy having my best bud and his wife over and his family and my family tailgating at the house as much as actually going to the game.

Having said that, my dad is as rabid a fan you could ever want to meet. I have had Tide Pride tickets for 18 years. Getting to take him to games over the years are some of the best memories I have with my dad. We were there for the Prothro catch against South Miss, along with the Mt Cody blocks against UT (just to name 2). Over the years my dad has been able to go to fewer and fewer games. I can't put a price tag on what it meant to get to take him and enjoy this run of Saban national championships over these past 12 years. For me, it's still worth it.

Many of us just watch on TV because of distance to T'town from out of state. I would love to go back to a Bama game at home. It has been since the 89 season that I have stepped foot in Bryant Denny. Thankfully, I have been able to hit road games at Vandy, UT and Lexington.

Heck, I don't have any Alabama fans in the family, all Georgia fans. I didn't meet a ton of students while in Tuscaloosa outside of my accounting classes, and a lot of them moved off to New York to work for the Big 4. So another reason I don't mind paying the money is to be around good folks like on this site that share the same passion I have for a school that has given me a life, career, and a future. I know some Alabama fans, but this is one of the only opportunities I get to be around like minded folks.
