Or maybe I should say "the 50 should be their goal?"
ESPN's stats department pulled up a jewel this week covering the defense we've had for the last 15 games.
The Tide defense has allowed, on average, 16.2 plays per game on our side of the field. How many of those resulted in "three and outs" would be an interesting number to find considering right at 40% of our opponents possessions have ended that way in the last 15 games.
16.2 plays per game average on our side of the field of course leads the FBS.
However, it gets better when you look at our last three games. We've allowed lower than 10 plays on our side of the field in that stretch of three games. There's isn't a NCAA team that has more than two since the beginning of last season.
IF I'm Arkansas today?
"Let's get it on their side of the field, call a time-out, and regroup to go from there."
Now, seriously, I expect UArk to have more success than the past three teams we've played. But, it's still an amazing accomplishment for the defense to be sitting at this position. Not saying it wouldn't be sweet to sit here around 7PM tonight and be able to count on two hands how many plays they had in our territory.
