🏈 A lot of talk about Orgeron now...

One of those tweets said Smart to Vandy if Haw Haw came aboard. The rumor mill fun never ends, does it?

As the Internet and services like Twitter continue to grow the rumor mills continue to get more entertaining as well.

There are a lot of fans laughing now. Who laughs last?

Hey, it is what it is...Just some wild rumor. Is there actually a list of candidates for Vandy that has at least been leaked?

Stanford's Derek Mason, ULL's Mark Hudspeth, and one other I can't recall...

Hudspeth is one I'd pay attention to...not because I think he'd get the Vandy job (third on their list I believe) but I believe Orgeron would be interested in the ULL job.

I think the question would be if Georgia wants to pay top dollar for a DC, and if he would like working under Richt. I would think if he is happy under Saban why would he want to move unless it was for a HC position. Just my opinion. Why would Grantham leave Georgia for Louisville?

As loyal as Richt is to his assistants and he is to a fault (think Mike Shula-loyal), Grantham saw the writing on the walls that this season should have been his last. Despite injury, the UGA defense was historically bad. UGA fans are excited to no end today.

I think Georgia has already made their run at Smart the last time they were looking. Kirby already made that decision. They would have to offer a LOT for him to consider in my opinion.

Yes. Doesn't mean he will, but I could see it unlike last time.

I wasn't going to mention it, and I don't know your reasoning, but you've prompted me to post mine.

Keep in mind, this is pure speculation on my part. But I seen more than a few times this year where Saban was on Kirby's ass during a timeout while on defense. I don't think it was anything other than Saban being pissed about a missed assignment, or possibly a questionable play call, but he was pissed either way. I wondered watching Kirby's reaction to some of it, if he's growing tired of the grind in Tuscaloosa. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. But it wouldn't surprise me to see him move for a fresh start. And maybe he thinks people haven't offered him a big time gig because they believe he's a product of Saban's system. I wonder if he's ready to prove himself.

Losing him to UGA would be huge though. More so on the recruiting trail in Georgia.

I can't see him leaving for a lateral move, but I think he's gone either this year to Vandy or after next year after Richt is fired because I think unless they win the NC he will be asked to either resign or get fired and the job will be offered to Kirby.

I think Kirby was pissed for two reasons the first being that assignments were missed or something to effect and the other is nobody likes getting their asses ripped, but I can see your point and it makes sense.

I have wondered about the point you bring up about Kirby's lack of offers for HC gigs is he product of Saban's system or does Kirby interview horribly?

This is exactly what I was thinking when I saw the Kiffin hire. Bring him in, recruit the hell out of the country, and bring more Scott Cochran type intensity. No one in the country would be able to add up to our measurables. If he does in fact come, that will be an excellent hire. Everyone in the country saw how passionate the USC players were about him, and I have no doubt it would be the same here. Roll Tide
