🏈 A look at the under-rated players who'll make a difference in Alabama's Sugar Bowl semifinal

In the last three days, we've looked at freshmen, offensive and defensive game changers. For Part 4 of our examination of the Sugar Bowl semifinal, we turn to the unheralded players who'll take the field New Year's evening in New Orleans.


Under-rated players in the 2015 Sugar BowlA look at the under-rated Alabama and Ohio State players from the 2015 Sugar Bowl. To do that, we partnered with our sister-site,Cleveland.com and Buckeye beat writer Doug Lesmerises.

At Ohio State, Lesmerises went with linebacker Darron Lee. The third-leading tackler has 13.5 stops in the backfield including 5.5 sacks. He's also recovered two fumbles.

For Alabama, I chose Blake Sims. The quarterback is still overlooked at times when Amari Cooper gets the headlines. He's been a steadying presence that's led Alabama through the brutal month of November and into the semifinal.
