I have a Ruger 10/22 takedown on order with Academy, been wanting one for a while. I'm going to drop some money with Silencer Central and get in line for the Ruger Silent SR integrally suppressed barrel.

In retirement, I'm going to shoot squirrels in my yard.
Have 2 producing pecan trees.....never have gotten a pecan....
So decided to kill off the squirrels one summer... sitting around pool...keeping the 20 guage loaded and handy...lab all excited...

Killed 20.... thought pecans this year....ha! By fall there was just as many...

So...good luck killing yours..if reducing populations is ur goal..

Yes, reducing population to prevent gnawing on my wife's expensive poly chairs, and I have two pecan trees, too, although I haven't been spraying them so worms are as big of a problem as squirrels. We have a couple of hawks who are quite active on the chipmunks and squirrels.

The wildlife in our neighborhood is interesting. Even though the lots range from one to three acres, it is by far quite open with an overhead canopy of large trees. Only two vacant lots out near the point. We're on a peninsula, only one way in and out for most creatures, about 1 1/4 miles out to the point. In the six years since we first bought the lot, I've never seen a possum or raccoon track, never seen a deer. Just squirrels and chipmunks. Multiple hawks and we get a bald eagle here and there, songbirds are plentiful. Logan Martin was impounded around 1964, and I think that contributes to the most wonderful thing about my lot: there is not a single fire ant on it. Millions upon billions of tree-dwelling tiny black ants (piss ants, we call them), but no fire ants. I'm guessing the water surrounding the area just before/as fire ants began appearing in central Alabama has something to do with it.

Back out to the main road and to the left about a mile is General Lee Campground. They have albino squirrels there, pure white. I occasionally see one at the entrance to my neighborhood, but they haven't made their way out to me yet.

RTR,

Tim

I have a few handguns, Glock 23 .40 cal, Smith & Wesson Shield .380, a Taurus TX 22 and a Heritage Arms 22 revolver. Looking to add a subcompact .40 cal soon.
A Berretta 3” magnum gold trigger, parkerized barrel and vented rib shotgun.
Ruger left handed bolt action .270, a Remington 742 Woodmaster 30-.06 semi automatic, a Remington 22 cal semiautomatic rifle, a 22 cal on AR-15 platform and an AR-15 in .223.

I have a DPMS Panther AR 15. I bought a $10 chance from a guy I worked with who was selling them for his daughters 11/12-year-old softball team and won the drawing, it was choice between a 30-06 hunting rifle or the AR15, I chose the latter. I've modified it a little. Got a solid, lined carry case, scope, laser sight and a retractable foregrip bipod.

@It Takes Eleven.....buy a couple of rubber snakes from Amazon and lay them on the porch and in the chairs when you're not using them.

I did this for my tractor and keeps the rats and squirrels away and my wiring safe.

Thanks for idea, I've seen them hanging around in various places over the years, never knew if they actually worked.

I'm still squeezing off some rounds, though.

The news media is trying to stir up the people that know absolutely nothing about guns and ammo…They are trying to get public opinion over to their ways of thinking (socialist)… they are winning because gun owners have very little voice in the mainstream media…the media allows no defense for firearm owners… they don’t allow views that oppose theirs’… I makes it appear like gun owners are indifferent to violations of our rights…
