| FTBL A flag should've been thrown on Terrence Cody BUT...

I might be wrong and if I just so happen to be I will man up and admit it. It is my opinion that the author of this article and the SEC official who back him up are bona fide idiots. Both of them admit that the game cannot end on a defensive penalty. Alabama was on defense until they actually recovered the football. Number 62 removed his helmet well before Alabama recovered the football. Therefore, when the penalty was committed Alabama was still on defense. It doesn't matter if the clock ran out or not. It was a defensive penalty and rules clearly state the game cannot end on a defensive penalty. Tennessee should have retained possession, gained 15 yards on the penalty and had another shot at the field goal. Until someone shows me the rule in the college football rule book that proves me wrong, I stand by my statements.
