Staff
  • After having surgery, Roy won't be playing in the Sugar Bowl. Barrett Jones has a procedure done on his shoulder as well. The staff looks for Barrett to be ready to go by spring camp.
  • The players will head home Tuesday and then get back together in New Orleans on the 27th.
  • He did comment on a few position changes, but didn't mention who or where. Like posted in another thread, there is ample reason to feel that Scott and Jackson are two players that'll be included in those moves.
  • Carpenter will be in team meetings, but won't be practicing or participating in the bowl game. Colin Peek very well may see some action in the Sugar Bowl.
  • No players ineligible (grades) right now for the bowl game

We'll have video up of the presser later on this afternoon.

If Collin Peek gets in the Sugar Bowl, does that mean that he will waste a season of eligibility? I assume that it does not, but I've always been under the impression that the bowl game would count towards the passed season?

It's a weird rule. One I wasn't aware of.

I'm of the impression if we played a guy in the bowl game that we had intended to red-shirt, he would lose his shirt. But, this is a different case considering it's a transfer eligibility situation.

Colin only has one year of eligibility left so we can correctly assume it won't effect next season.
