🏈 A few basics about the UT-Chattanooga Mocs ...

Not that it really tells us much. Furman's stats are messed up since they had Auburn on their schedule. UTC looks better on Defense, but Furman looks better on offense. The Tide will be ready to play

Stat comparison:

UTC:
6-4 record

Offense: 323 yds/game (76th FCS) 109th in Rushing Off/ 23rd in Pass Off
Defense: 296 yds/ game (25th FCS) 49th Rush Def/ 50th Pass Def
23.6 points scored /game (57th FCS)
23.8 points allowed/ game (63rd FCS)

The QB has 2300+ yards this season.
*109 FCS schools.

FURMAN
5-5 record

Offense: 363 yds/game (37th FCS) 55th in Rushing Off/ 32nd in Pass Off
Defense: 445 yds/ game (116th FCS) 79th Rush Def/ 107th Pass Def
28.2 points scored /game (30th FCS)
32.5 points allowed/ game (107th FCS)

I was looking at the FBS stats for rush defense and noticed Awbarn is 91st against the rush. Holy crap! Bama 2nd.

Just like the NCAA penalties thread, it's very, very hard to compare oranges to apples.

Their numbers are mediocre in the FCS, which is vastly different than a TOP NOTCH team in FBS.

If Bama doesn't win by at least 40, we lose credibility. I don't care. You can talk up the Mocs all you want to, about how improved they are, and how they have an SEC caliber QB, and what not. Bama should win by 40 or more. I am sure Coach Saban expects us to blow them out, but we won't run the score up intentionally. Our team should come out with 1000% intensity, have the game safely put away by mid 2nd Quarter, and we need to see Ingram, McElroy, McClain, Jones, and others sitting on the sidelines. I'd like to see some 3rd stringers carry their load in 4th quarter. I definitely want the 2nd string to see what it's going to be like next year having to play more than 3 minutes at a time.

La Tech, NIU, Central Fl... I stopped assuming Bama would just win games years ago. True this isnt a Shula coached team. But I bet Saban would be happy with a solid performance, a win, and no injuries. I dont think the point total matters as much.
