Sorting out the WR position... Really just looking for @TerryP insights :D

After re watching some stuff, it looked Traeshon Holden was getting a lot of attention on the 1st team 'O'. Just so many options and so much competition to fill roles next year. Metchie is the man, so that's settled. I think we all expect Bolden to be a consistent piece in the slot, outside of that it's hard to tell.

X. Williams played snaps last year when Waddle went down. I'd expect him to be in the mix. After yesterday I'm guessing Holden will be too. Last year we heard so much about Javon Baker it's just hard to believe that if his mind is right he doesn't get on the field. And between the performance and what CNS had to say about A. Hall, he's going to play.

Then there's the rest... I thought Jones-Bell kind of pops when he gets the ball! He's quick as hell. I didn't notice Leary or Brooks yesterday but that doesn't mean they haven't turned heads in practice. And last but not least JoJo Earle will be coming in soon, and he's super talented in the Waddle mold.

Said and done there would probably only be 4 dudes getting the majority of snaps with a 5th in the mix... So that competition is nuts. My guess in no particular order would be:

-Metchie
-Bolden
-Holden
-Hall
-Baker

With a bunch of talented dudes on their heals... And either X Williams or Jones-Bell potentially sneaking into that group 🐘

Bama problems... You could point to almost every position and do the same thing. Crazy depth everywhere.

I thought Leary along with Earle were not Early Enrollees. Could easily be wrong though.

Question about Holden. Was that one handed play in the endzone not a touchdown since he was inside the pylon and hit it?

Was very encouraging to see the young early enrollee Hall make some great catches. The back shoulder catch he made with the CB draped all over him where he pulled a Devonta Smith and stretched out of bounds to catch while still getting a foot down was exceptional. I try and tap the breaks on a freshman but seems like he will make some noise sometime this year.

Hall was open a bunch too. Could see live at BD.....maybe not on TV
Dbacks were keeping receivers in check....elsewhere

lot of good players. RBs were shifty...

Before the team started spring ball I mentioned they were going to a slightly different offensive philosophy this fall. The WR rotation is one of those areas I expect to see a change since we're not going to be watching three and four guys who are definitely headed to the league.

I know CNS and CBB both really like what they're seeing out of the two tight ends. It's for that reason I mentioned last night how I'm looking forward to the two TE set this fall.

It's my opinion we'll see a four receiver rotation but it's not just WR's in that mix. I expect to see Metchie and Bolden along with Billingsley and Latu: A LOT.

The next three in the WR rotation are the ones you've mentioned; Hall, Baker, and Holden.

We didn't see Leary Saturday due to "health issues," so he's behind the eight ball a bit. We'll have to see how he comes along over the summer in skel drills going into fall.

The TE is a position that you can really create some mismatches if you have a TE with the right skill set which we have. Same with RB out of the backfield. Team offense will certainly not run through the WR's like it has the last couple of years which also likely mean less explosive plays. That does not mean they will not be good however. Just different.
