Out of the 126 teams in the FBS, I think six teams have won at least three national titles in the poll era (other than Bama.)

As fans, we're sitting back reflecting on four in the past seven years. Can you name the teams that have at least three in the poll era?

By my count:

[HIDE-REPLY]USC, OU, Ohio State, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Miami.[/HIDE-REPLY]

I'm gonna say [HIDE-REPLY-THANKS]8: Ohio State, Florida State, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Southern Cal, Miami, Notre Dame and Texas[/HIDE-REPLY-THANKS]

Forgot about [HIDE-REPLY-THANKS]Florida so 9 total off the top of my head[/HIDE-REPLY-THANKS]

Everyone can read...just because you said it's so doesn't mean we don't want to guess. Geez Chris ...

Well...I was just playin around. There's been so much talk about how Bama rates historically I think all of the teams I listed have been on some type of graphic on ESPN at one point or other recently.

I don't know if I'm actually right about the number of teams or the teams, one thing is obvious though, y'all ain't watched enough Lonesome Dove.

1 Michigan State

3 Alabama
4 USC
5 UCLA
6 LSU (BCS National Champion)
7 Washington
8 Texas
9 Ohio State

Note: Prior to the modern era of the AP Poll (1968-present), the final poll was released before the bowl games in all seasons except 1965. This helped preserve the National Championship for the following #1 teams that lost their bowl game:

It's in queue ... coming right after I start watching the Lifetime channel. :bird:

I listed all I could think of this morning and when I posted the thread I knew there were some I was missing. Texas raised an eyebrow. I'd forgotten about the LSU NC in the '50's,

I started thinking about this last night after seeing a tweet out of the corner of my eye ... now I'm wondering if they were talking about AP titles, only.

In other threads people are talking about how championships are once again being redefined. Even though the UPI turned into the Coaches Poll, for some reason the Coaches Poll didn't exist until ... weird logic.

Oh...Minnesota did dawn on me while biking this morning ... they were a three-peat we talked about a couple of years ago as I recall.
