Saban said Alabama escaped serious injury, but ... star receiver Julio Jones tweaked his previously sprained left ankle enough to miss time today because of it.

Tailback Trent Richardson caused a scare by spraining his shoulder, but "I think he'll be OK," Saban said. Cornerback Marquis Johnson was held out of action late in the workout because of a head stinger that wasn't thought to be serious.

I would expect various strains by now, I am happy nothing serious impacting the two deep has happened though.

The second teamers still need to make strides, but atleast there was progress.

I am happy to see those big plays, McElroys numbers continue to impress, all things considered.

Still breaking some big plays, I like that.

And Eryk Anders numbers are really nice. Also really nice to see Burton Scott get in the action. Looks like Norwood might be in the WR rotation too.

Ingram, Grant highlight Tide scrimmage; Jones, Richardson suffer non-serious injuries

I like Ingrm getting receptions as well. He onl had 7 for 54 yds all year last year. When your feature back can make plays recieving its makes 1st downs a guessing game for the opposing defense. Just 1 more weapon. Now I just want to see Julio on an end around then passing deep to a wide open Maze.

the only question i have...is was this against #1 or #2 Defensive Unit.

It's never set for the entire practice. Every unit, at some time or another will face each of the other units. In other words, the 1's will face the 1's, the 2's, a mixture 1's and 2's and so on.

That's one of the main reasons I take scrimmage stats very lightly. You never can tell what is situational, what is a full length drive, etc.
