Some tweets from Bama beat write Chase Goodbread:
Menzie day to day with hamstring, Lester concussion day to day, Milliner ankle twist, day to day.

On specialists, Saban said punters & kickers look great in practice but need to translate that to game conditions/live rush/etc.

Saban said defense had an immature performance.

reading CNS's comments, seems like the entire D didn't do very well, he call all 11 out...lighting a fire? he is praising the offense (kinda hard not to with the numbers they put up).

also Milliner twisted ankle, Lester concussion, Menzie hamstring (all day to day)

oh my, im officially worried about the secondary. yeah i know this was geared towards the passing game (u can see that just because of the number of rushes) but wow. not good.

Someone just tell me the McElroy is totally awesome and our secondary is not filled with wet paper bags.

but anyway,i wonder if eddie lacy is making a push to split carries too.I had thought hedsurge after a year, but i am kinda surprised he had more carries than trent, whioch is the key stat for running backs at saban scrimmages.

Grain of Salt, please.

Unless our LBs as a unit forgot how to tackle, the tackle stats imply that there was a huge effort at stretching the field. Hightower had 3 tackles. This says that he was way out of many plays.

So can we not equally boast that we shut down the best running game in the game? Not really, because it was not Real Football.

So a QB who can't be hit in the mouth, uses our deep/talented WR corp to effectively play 7-on7 against our young/nicked-up DBs...in the first scrimmage of the fall.

Great defensive outing? No, but you get beat up in a perfect storm. Bring on the pass rush.

Well, to add to that, most of t he time our baccks dont put up highlight numbers at scrimmages. thats why i view carries, as in the number of looks, as so important. might see alot of lacy this year.

its obvious mcelroy had a good game, however we can figure that the scrimmage was there for our secondary(Which is basically what LBS said)

But i like how saban is working the secondary against one of the better college QBs in the ccountry.

Guys we can read the tea laves all day long with these stats....
does us no good. We'll know what we got 60 mins after they take the field 2 weeks from now.
Out side of the secondary, my SECONDARY concern is the kicking game.
Which we don't have stats for. but i did read 1 quote from Coach that kinda puzzled me......
he said something to the affect of they were punting the stitches off the ball in wam ups b4 scrimmige.....
and you'ld wanna know where he got those guys from if you saw the punts they were making.....
but durring the scrimmage......they obviously still need a bunch of work in a game situation.
And right now.....i don'tthink Cade is going to be the guy this year. could be wrong....i just don't see it.
