Who are your suprises for Bama so far?

1. Glenn Coffee -- Running the ball MUCH better than I thought he ever could. Very physical runner has has shown homerun speed with a handful of huge runs.

2. Justin Woodall -- He is starting(and playing well) in a position that I fully expected to see a freshman take over by now. Woodall has been extremely good in run support and looks great in coverage as well.

3. Terrance Cody -- We all knew he was going to be huge in run situations this season, but I don't think anyone could have predicted the huge number of snaps Cody has taken so far this year. He did a good job of getting into playing shape and is an anchor on the best rushing defense in the SEC.

22 Mark Ingram

62 Terrence Cody

And so far the game play OF JPW.

O yea by far our best players our offensive linemen.

I'm shocked by Walker and how much we have used him in the passng game and you have to be proud of how Travis is blocking. So our TE's our doing great. I'm also happy with Jim and his playcalling.

I expected Coffee and Ingram. I didn't expect our defensive line to play the way it has. Also I was aprehensive about Javy at CB but, he has done a nice job. In fact our whole secondary has done well with the exception of Marquis Johnson he seems to make the most mistakes.

I did expect improvement, didn't expect to be 6-0. I did expect top 15 ranking by now. Never saw hanging around impressivley in the top 5. I did expect Jones to be an immediate impact player. Never saw Nick Walker as a consistent target, but wow! That's why Saban makes the big bucks.

1. Coach McElwain
2. Glenn Coffee
3. Mark Ingram
4. Justin Woodall
5. Donte' Hightower
6. TERRANCE CODY anyone that big should be BOLD and in Caps.

Javy was good last year. How is that a surprise? Plus he has not been as good on special teams this year? Not picking on you just asking.

For me it has been Coffee, Cody & Dont'a Hightower.

Surprises first would have to be the play of JPW not doing anything to hurt us. Second, is the factor that T. Cody brings to the defense and a close third would be the contribution of Coffee and the fact that he was the #1 back. Going into the season, I was hoping Terry Grant would be racking up yards equivalent to Moreno. Not disappointed that it's Coffee that is doing this but not what I was expecting.

As a result of the above and even more contributions by others to long to list, we are #2 in the country and undefeated. That is the biggest surprise to me. I thought we would be 4-2 at this point.

So many players to praise, and the fact is that I'm proud of each and every starter. They've all have impressed me so far in different ways, I could go on forever..

The Team buying in to Saban's plan! I mean every year there seems to be those players albeit talented, but lack the total commitment. Last year I saw many players quit in the 4th quarter, lose focus, lack intensity and we couldn't answer the bell when a team made a run! We seem to be able to answer this year and score when it counts! If this team sells out and gives a total commitment these last 6 games this team may just take us all the way! It starts this sat. by showing america we are for real by laying the wood to ole piss! in a blow out! RTR! :D

The obvious choices are:

(1) Glen Coffee - He has shown north/south running ability that is much better than the 3 yards and a cloud of dust that I expected from him. His speed is much better than seen previously...when he has a crease, he can make a defense pay, and his cutback ability is very good.

(2) Terrence Cody - Other than the feedback from practice, there was no way to know HOW disruptive he was going to be.

Other than those two, I don't know that there has been a major surprise. Those two make those around them better...of course the OL makes Coffee look good - it is a two way deal.

1.Nick Walker We are finally using him.
2.Bobby Greenwood He is quick off the edge.
3.Coach Mac's play calling.
4.Justin woodall's secondary play much improved.
