and my Sooners are 5-0. Not very pretty opponents it seems to be turning out, but I can't ask for much better so far. Defense played almost perfect. Hell they outscored texas by themselves with 3 touchdowns. Just got back from a great weekend in Dallas. Fried oreos, fried snickers, fried lemonade (THE BEST), fried ding dongs, corn dogs, and beer combined with talking trash and beating the ever-living doo-doo out of texASS just made for an awesome weekend. Bama looks good. Defense is scary good. I don't think lsu can handle it, but we'll see. You guys think we (OU/Alabama) will see each other in Nawlins' this January?

The Sooners look very tough. Good Defense. Very good offense. Honestly, that was the first game that I have had a chance to watch of the Sooners, and I stopped after it got ugly. Stoops has your team light years above anybody else in the Big12 right now.

My biggest question is: How in the hell to do fry lemonade??

And, I am HOPING that the beer wasn't fried as well. That would be Un-American, and punishable by law (or it should be atleast). I saw on College Gameday, Corso had some fried butter...I can feel myself getting fatter just thinking about it.

Changin' the subject a bit...

Hypothetical. This years OU team vs the Texas team of 2009. How would you see that game?

I want to know how the hell you fry lemonade as well!!!

I'm sure they did the fried lemonade like they did Deep Fried Koolaid here. Mix it into the batter and fry it, then coat it with a koolaid flavored sauce.

Just hit the fair here in Tulsa. Got more chocolate covered bacon (yum), tried the deep fried koolaid, deep fried butter (tastes like cinnamon toast), deep fried peanut butter cup (hell yeah yum..lol) and also split a Krispy Kreme bacon cheeseburger with one of my work mates. It wasnt bad. It was a bacon cheeseburger patty with a slight hint of sweet.

Of all of them, the bacon and the deep fried peanut butter cups are on my list to get again.

Sorry for the hijack. :P

OU hasn't really played anyone of note yet to really judge their team - that FSU win is looking less impressive at this point. big win this past weekend against texas, but again, not sure if texas is really worth a crap this year.

will be interesting to see how not having a big-xii conf champ game impacts the final polls.

Just like BAMA and LSU, they have played and beaten everyone on their schedule. That's all you can do. In my opinion, the Sooners are as good as anyone right now.

Bedlam this year should be every bit as entertaining as any game between those schools in recent memory.

All OU can do it win all their games and hope its enough to be one of the top 2 in final BCS rankings. I know I'm having a blast this year with all the tailgating, and our trip to Dallas. OU playing like they are really makes it fun.

Fried lemonade is a lemon pastry dipped in a lemon batter and fried then topped with a lemon glaze. If you love lemon, you WILL love this food. The fried Kool-aid sounds really good. There was also fried frito pie which was very tasty. Fried chocolate which is a white choc bar and cherries stuffed in a brownie, dipped in choc batter and fried then covered with choc sauce. And there was FRIED BEER. Beer in a pretzel pocket, battered and fried. One bite and beer goes everywhere. I didn't think it was very good though.

lol, and I had a mild heart attack at 32 this last june. It was family history that did me in. I'm only 5'8'' but I was about 195 lbs when it happened. Now I have a stent (stint-sp?) and I'm down to 170 which is WAY healthier for me. I am proud to say I only sampled these foods, as in 1 bite of each, except the fried lemonade which I finished off but was in a very small cup. Yeah the fair is not a place for me to eat, but its fun and I keep it in very limited proportion.

Wow 32 is young for a stent. One thing you can never change is who momma and daddy are (genetics). I have seen 60 year olds that have smoked and abused their bodies for years, but have arteries that look like a teenager.(I work in a cath lab) Sounds like your on the right track and fighting it best you can.

As far as your sooners, I think that LSU, Alabama, and OU are ahead of the pack, but one game I think will be very interesting for you guys down the stretch is the OSU/OU game. Is that home or away for you guys? Should be an absolute barn burner if both teams come into that one undefeated. (looks like you should)

Well I didn't fight it very hard this last weekend, but I'll push a lil harder when I exercise this next few weeks. Definitely be eating a lot lighter than usual for a while. I have to watch for my diabetes too. Type 2, also due in part to genetics. :dazed:

The OU/ok st game is on the road in Stoolwater (stillwater) this year. It was last year too, but the corncobbers and buttpillows (neb and col) left the conf and forced a new schedule that resulted in a few teams playing the same road games in consecutive years.
