🏈 6 Observations thus far

1. Would not be surprised to see Bama ranked 1 or 2 when the BCS polls come out. Our strength of schedule may play heavy in that. Our dominating win over Virg Tech is looking really good right now.....McElroy isn't getting much attention right now but will probably be in heisman talk toward the end of the year.

2. Reality will kick Auburn in the crotch the next few weeks. All the rah-rah from the fans and Trooper will not work in the SEC. Given they are undefeated and still not highly ranked is a good indication of what the perception of them is.

3. LSU should have lost to Miss ST. Dan Mullens is a good coach but got too cute at the goaline......Dan is turning Miss St around fast and people believe in his system. Too bad he will probably be hired away by another SEC school with a few years, then Miss St will plummet to earth again.

4. Speaking of LSU, they appear are continuing to decline under "The Hat". If LSU had not fell azz-backwards into the national title a few years ago their decline would have been much faster. They were on the edge of implosion when that miracle season happened. "The Hat" never seems to get any better and was a poor imitation to fill LSU's Saban jealousy for their Saban love.

5. Mark Richt's recruiting coordinator, cheeleading routine is getting old to some in Georgia, although a lot of the emotional tactics has calmed some this year. People can see GA is not getting over the hump under Richt and other schools are passing them by. He had a golden shot to rule the SEC a few years ago when several schools were going through transitions. Look for his seat to get warm if he doesn't show he can keep up with the big boys next few years.

6. Next years offense should look great! We will only lose 2 O-lineman and a tight-end this year. I haven't seen an offense this explosive since the 80's. It should only be better next year :>)....Enjoy it, it will be the last time we get to see Julio in Crimson. Should be special to watch!

Can you elaborate on CDM getting too cute at the goal line? I didn't see it that way at all, though I would not in any form or fashion have run the ball near or at Al Woods.

Thought the call to throw the pass was excellent and had the entire LSU defense biting on it. Chad Jones just happened to react enough to deflect the pass and save a TD from being scored. He's a special athlete and proved it again yesterday. There are a lot of players who could not have recovered to make such a play.

To explain about the "too cute" comment........Anthong Dixon had been running it down their throats all day and LSU was beat-down at that point. Miss St had the ball literally at the 1 inch line and all they had to do was just QB sneak it or give it to Anthony Dixon to score. Dan chose to try a Tebow style pass on the first opportunity and on the second one he had anthony Dixon running into the flat on a fake with the QB running the ball on a delay. HUGE mistake.....when your that close, give it to your hoss running back Dixon and seal the game away.

Dan seemed to actually over think what he should have done in the situation....I would venture to say he is kicking himself in the film room today. I'll give him credit that he was aggressive but he should have used the K.I.S.S. system.

Agreed. The jump-pass was ill-advised IMO. A QB sneak was their best option on first down. Great post Victory.

i think LSU is too strong on their D-line... mullen probably made the right call.. it could go either way..

The QB should have tossed to the RB & he would've walked in on the last play. Hindsight is 20/20, oh well.
