And who cares if he is turning it for profit? That's honest work, and if the story is legit that he's doing it mostly all himself, he's more than earned it. Secondly, and maybe most importantly, I just l like the fact that he's bringing the property back to life. Whether it's used as a farm again, or an Air B&B, or just a house... it's nice to see old structures like that given new life. I know 2 sets of couples (1 gay... "Not that there's anything wrong with that." -Seinfeld) that have bought those older Greek revival type houses from the 1800's for cheap, moved in, and renovated/repaired little by little to bring them back to their former glory. That happened a lot in Mobile in the early 90's too when I was down there... people saving those older houses from years or decades of neglect. Of course now, they are worth a pretty penny.
