šŸ’¬ 5 reasons why Auburn will end Clemson’s national championship hopes

You might want to think that over a bit. Their signing classes has been woefully thin on offensive linemen to the point you've got Gus scrambling through JUCO ranks looking for guys.

As it is, even with their returning guys, there's a lot of shuffling going on with guys like Golson moving to tackle after playing center last season. When you have back-ups leaving Oxford, transferring to Auburn, and finding themselves on the starting lineup?

We both see depth, but I'm looking at the hole.

I want to see Auburn get beat and then get beat by Arkansas State right afterwards.. I just see this as the type of game that Auburn wins. The one where nobody expects them to win and the team they are playing is full of question marks and are over hyped. Clemson lost Both defensive ends, their best D tackle, their starting mike and will linebacker, their top safety and best cover corner. I don't care who you are that is hard to get past.

Clemson will be young on defense and ol' trick play Malzan is usually able to scheme a score or two in games like this. I am just saying don't build up Clemson too big in your mind or in the mind of Auburn fans because this has the feel of a trap game for Clemson and we wouldn't want the Boogs to feel too proud of a victory.

@TerryP
and even more so with its vibrating sound system and college football’s largest scoreboard.

Sound can exacerbate the effects of heat, leading to further disorientation for visitors. Meanwhile, the home team will feed off that energy.

Yet, the same Clemson team has more returning starters than Auburn does in 2016. The 2015 squad for Clemson had fewer returning starters (10) than their 2016 team (13) and they made it to the NC game.

Going into even more detail. The 2015 Auburn team returned more starters than Clemson in route to losing their last five conference games in a row, and making it to Birmingham. :dance:

So, we have on one hand a team that made it to the NC game last year and returns more starters this year than last. On the other hand, we have a 7-6 team returning few starters than last year with a coaching staff that isn't as good as the one last year (which was a cluster-fuck to begin with.)

Seven of the 11 on Clemson's defense have been there three years or more. There are six upperclassmen with one RS Sophomore.

You may be right. Gus may pull a score or two from trick plays. I'm looking at a Clemson team that averaged almost 40 a game with eight on offense returning versus a team scoring less than 30 a game and returning six.

But hey, Auburn is returning their starting quarterback ... oh, wait.
