RJ Hampton, the No. 5 prospect in the ESPN 100 class of 2019, has signed a contract with the New Zealand Breakers of the Australian National Basketball League, he announced on ESPN's Get Up on Tuesday.
Hampton becomes the first American player to willingly forgo college for playing international basketball, unlike players such as Brandon Jennings, Emmanuel Mudiay and Terrance Ferguson, who signed overseas amid concerns regarding their academic or amateur status.
Welcome to today's battle. I've seen Dan Wolken suggest this is what the NCAA has asked for and I'm sure we'll see others take an opposite view. Are you waiting for the takes from Skip, or Stephen A.? 😈

IMO, CBB would be better off without the one-and-dones. I long for the days when a guy like Johnny Dee can take five Notre Dame rejects and develop them into one of the best teams in the history of the University of Alabama and the SEC. I couldn't name five players from last year's team, but as long as I have any memory at all I can tell you that Jerry Harper, George Linn, Leon Marlaire, Dennis O'Shea, and Dick Gunder were the Rocket 8.

So far it hasn't worked out that well for those who travel that route... But if a guy like this blows up maybe the narrative could change.

When you see the kind of PR guys like Zion and RJ Barrett got at Duke... Don't know if any oversees checks are worth that value!

I'll have to see if I can make the time to listen more carefully but if I heard correctly when Pat Forde mentioned the story today one of Wade's answers was "no one has heard the tapes" so he couldn't confirm if he was quoted correctly.

There are some quotes coming out of Destin today.
