Yeah, it's a long shot, but pretty good that both Saban and Cristobal got him to visit.

Malachi Dupre isn't the only prospect Nick Saban's been to see this week.

Saban, who visited the five-star River Ridge (La.) John Curtis receiver along with offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin on Thursday, has stopped by several schools this week to visit with 2014 prospects and the coaches of targeted 2015 recruits.

The most beneficial trip may have been the visit he made along with offensive line coach Mario Cristobal to Miami-Booker T. Washington, where they met with five-star defensive end Chad Thomas, a Miami commitment who told Rivals.com that he now plans to visit Tuscaloosa this weekend.

According to Rivals, he's expected to be joined in Tuscaloosa this weekend by two other 2014 prospects who are committed elsewhere -- LSU tight end commitment Jacory Washington of Westlake (La.) and recent Utah safety decommit Donovan Wilson of Shreveport (La.) Woodlawn Leadership Academy, another stop in Saban's travels this week.

(UPDATE: According to Rivals.com, Wilson canceled his visit Friday morning.)

On Wednesday, he was in Bossier City, La., visiting with 2014 defensive tackle commitment O.J. Smith and the coaching staff at Airline High School. Perhaps this should have been a tip-off that Alabama would not be landing another coveted DT prospect, Matt Elam of Elizabethtown (Ky.) John Hardin) on Thursday, as Lance Thompson -- and not Saban -- made his way to Kentucky on Thursday morning to make a final pitch for the Crimson Tide before Elam's 11 a.m. Central announcement. Elam chose Kentucky.

Saban was also spotted this week in Pine Bluff (Ark,), home of 2015 tight end prospect Will Gragg; at Hillsboro (Tenn.), home of 2015 defensive end prospect Kyle Phillips; at Shreveport (La.) Woodlawn Leadership Academy, home of Wilson and 2015 defensive tackle prospect T.D. Moton; at Hialeah (Fla.) Champagnat Catholic, home of 2014 defensive tackle Travonte Valentine; at Hallandale (Fla.), home of 2014 LSU CB commit John Battle and 2015 linebacker prospect Sh'mar Kilby-Lane, and at Memphis University School, home of 2015 offensive tackle Drew Richmond.

"We can’t really talk because of the rules, but he told my coach that he needed my help to continue the success at Alabama and he can see me and Cameron Robinson on opposite sides being the best two tackles in the SEC," Richmond, a four-star prospect, told 247Sports. ā€œIt means a lot coming from one of the best college football coaches of all time or in any other sport.
ā€œThey are proven winners and it’s O-line U. I could see myself being a part of it, but I have to make sure it’s the right fit for me and make sure everything is perfect.ā€

The Tide extended an offer to 2015 quarterback/athlete Jauan Jennings of Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Blackman, according to 247Sports. Jennings has 15 other offers, including Auburn, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Ohio State, Northwestern.

In addition, Cristobal was expected to be visiting four-star offensive line commitment Dominick Jackson of the College of San Mateo (Calif.) and five-star 2015 cornerback prospect Minkah Fitzpatrick of Jersey City, N.J., this week, according to Rivals.
