🏈 48-7

The defense was impressive but the OL was disappointing. I don't know if it is the players or the scheme that is the problem. The line had a difficult time making holes last season and it looks like they are going to have the same difficulties opening holes unless some improvement is made this week. Coach Saban needs to make a decision on a QB. I don't think that a 2 QB system is good for an offenses rythm. it is said that the biggest improvement is between week one and two so we will find out if that is the case with the OL next week.

Run defense looks to be stout like expected...pass defense is improved, along with the pass rush - which probably go hand-in-hand. Courtney Upshaw is going to go crazy this year. We're replacing some big names from last years offense, so even though the expectations are extremely high with the offense, and the potential is there...there will be growing pains. I just didn't think the OL would be the issue, and hopefully it won't be. I'm hoping they just needed to shake the rust off this week, and they'll continue to improve over the season.

Overall, this was a good outing. You can tell the talent is there...and even though a big blowout would be impressive for this first game, Saban leaves this week with a lot of teaching points. There is plenty of room to grow, and our team knows that they need to improve before the meat of conference play begins. Can't wait for next week!
