Some of you others that are better about basketball recruiting than me, help me out, but does it not seem if Avery is recruiting his ass off? I don't recall Alabama signing these highly regarded players like this.

He's killing it. He's landed 2 of 3 targets already and going after a big man outta Dallas.

I realize that Avery and Grant recruited different types of players and have different styles. Grant's best class was #11 in 2011 that included Trevor Lacey, Cooper, Randolph, and Jacobs (all 4*'s).

I saw where Alabama is picked 13 out of 14 in the SEC. I think this league will be surprised. If not, help is on the way. I love, absolutely love, the hiring of Johnson. For the first time in a long time I am looking forward to basketball season.

I am excited as well. I imagine that the projections are based on losing two mainstays from last year in Randolph and Cooper. It remains to be seen how well this year's bunch does, but I am sure of what it won't look like. We won't see another season of passively throwing the ball around the perimeter until the shot clock is down to five and then throwing up a contested jump shot at the buzzer. We will attack on offense. We may not be as successful as I would like this season, but it will be a building block season.
