Florida and Alabama battled for several players going into this Saturday's 2:30 p.m. matchup between the two schools.
Tuesday, we looked at the players Alabama won the battles for. Today, here are four players Alabama wanted but Florida signed. Check out some notes on other players below.
VERNON HARGREAVES III, 5-star CB from Tampa, Fla.
Hargreaves III was the top cornerback in the class of 2013 and the top prospect in the state. The sophomore should be matched up with Alabama receiver Amari Cooper all afternoon on Saturday. When Nick Saban reflects on an opposing player's high school days, you know he wanted him. And Saban wants all the top cornerbacks. He took an unofficial visit to Alabama, but didn't have the Crimson Tide in his top five. He's lived up to his billing and is one of the top players in the country and has five pass breakups in two games.
JALEN TABOR, 5-star CB from Washington, D.C.
Tabor, a true freshman, committed to Arizona originally over Alabama and Florida at the Under Armour game but later switched to and signed with Florida. Alabama got 5-star cornerbacks Tony Brown and Marlon Humphrey, but certainly wanted Tabor as well. Tabor has played in two games with two tackles and a pass breakup.
GERALD WILLIS, 4-star DL from New Orleans
Willis is the brother of Alabama junior safety Landon Collins, but while Alabama wanted him early on, he seemed to eliminate the Crimson Tide after taking a visit in 2012 and not feeling the love. In one game as a true freshman, Willis has three tackles, combining on a tackle for loss and a quarterback hurry. He contributes on special teams. Willis committed to Florida at the Under Armour game over LSU and just like older brother Landon, their mother wasn't happy with Gerald's college choice.
JAY-NARD BOSTWICK, 4-star DT from Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Bostwick took his decision down to the last minute on National Signing Day in 2013, signing with Florida over Alabama and Miami. He took an official visit to Alabama. The 6-foot-3, 305-pound redshirted as a freshman last season. Bostwick has one tackle in one game this season.

Here are some other notes:
- Alabama recruited 5-star linebacker Alex Anzalone in the class of 2013, but he didn't have the Crimson Tide as a finalist.
- Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel, perhaps the top quarterback in the class of 2011, had Alabama in his top five but committed to Florida early in the process. Alabama signed Phillip Ely in 2011. Ely is now at Toledo.
- Alabama offered 5-star offensive tackle D .J. Humphries in the class of 2012, but he didn't have Alabama in his final five. Humphries is injured and won't play this weekend.
- True freshman tight end C'yontai Lewis played his senior season at Kingwood Christian in Alabaster, but Alabama didn't recruit him heavily.
