Three Auburn softball players were arrested for marijuana possession early Thursday morning.
Shortstop Haley Fagan, pitcher Makayla Martin and outfielder Brittany Maresette were each arrested at an address on E. Samford Ave at 12:47 a.m. Thursday for possession of marijuana in the second degree and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Auburn police arrest reports.
An Auburn spokesman said the program did not have a statement as of 2:35 p.m. No. 7 Auburn (37-7, 10-5 SEC) plays a three-game series at South Carolina beginning 5 p.m. CT Friday.
Each are due in court on Aug. 31 for the Class A misdemeanor charges, each of which carry a penalty of no more than one year in jail and up to a $6,000 fine.
