What do you fine folks need?
Ahh...I see....you are skipping North Texas and going straight to Arkansas!
I kid I kid!
It's halftime of the Oakland game and McFadden has 62 yards on 13 carries. I wish we had him back!
So what do you want to know?
We played Missouri State and beat them 48-10. Ryan Mallett played 2 1/2 quarters and was 17-22 for 309 yards. Tyler Wilson came in and was 13-19 for 138 yards. Arkansas set a new school passing record for 447 yards in one game.
Yeah, it was Missouri State. That's why I can't really answer your question. We had the next week off. Therefore, Georgia is our first true test.
Do I think we will beat them? Yes, I do. I have the ability to throw my homer side out the window and use logic to look at the situation. Do I think we will beat Bama and Florida? No, I do not. That's bad logic.
Why do I think we will beat Georgia? It's real simple. We will score more points than they will.
Two years ago I came in here and predicted the Arkansas/Alabama game in the 40's and down to the wire. You guys thought I was crazy until after the game.
Our defense will most likely give up a lot of points in this game against Georgia. Although, they could surprise me.
I wasn't real impressed with the Georgia secondary against South Carolina. Garcia went 31-for-53 for 313 yards and two touchdowns. If he can do that then Ryan Mallett can do better. If Mallett has time to set up in the pocket and not get rushed he will pick this secondary apart.
This ain't Casey Dick guys! Mallett was a 5 star out Texarkana and he has the strongest arm I have ever seen. Period!
If the Arkansas offensive line will give him the time he needs you guys are in for a treat Saturday night. Chris Low said that Arkansas and Ole Miss had the best receivers in the SEC. We had 13 different receivers catch a ball against Missouri State. Yeah, it's Missouri State, but you still have to run a route and throw/catch the ball.
If they try to shut down the pass then Petrino will run the ball. If they stack the box on Michael Smith then he will throw it. Regardless of what they do Petrino will find away to get the ball down the field.
Petrino has prepared for this game against Georgia for a very long time. He admitted they worked on Georgia right before Missouri State. I heard him say at a Razorback Club meeting back in May that the first thing he does when he gets to the office at 6:00 AM is watch 2 hours of Georgia before the day starts. He told us he does that every day.
OK, maybe I sound a little homerish! Who cares! I'm excited about the game Saturday.
