šŸˆ 252, as much as we talked about Georgia v Arkansas, figured I'd link this piece...

...this morning.

We'll see if I'm eating crow for my pre-season thoughts Sunday. Right now, when it comes to Georgia...I'm just...

Geez, just read the piece.

Very good article. You are right about UGA. If SC had done just about anything right all night on offense then they would have won that game. I hope UGA can get it together before the LSU game. I guess I should want them to help eliminate Arkansas from the West picture, but I just don't believe that will happen.

My gut tells me to go back to recruiting—athletes vs athletes.

UGA has the edge there.

I suspect it is going to be a good game. But then again, I thought the USC vs UGA game was going to be boring.

SC- UGA was unbelievable. For the past 10 years they had used horseshoe scoring rules (first one to 21 wins). And then in the first week, neither could have scored 21 if they had played all weekend. So for them to go out and combine for 78 points was mind boggling.

I thought Ga's defense played respectably against Oklahoma State. They made Garica look like an all SEC candidate Saturday night, after he was just the same old same old in SC's first game. Maybe Garcia is better, but that much better? Like you, Terry, I liked Ga in this one when the season started. Now I fully expect Mallett to shred these guys. I'll pick Arkansas now, and considering what Arkansas did defensively a year ago, the "over" would have to be really high for me not to take it.

Have not seen enough of Arky to know what to expect, but I do expect the offense to be much better than last year.
Edge is still in UGA's favor considering talent.

UGA should've lost that game the other night. If it wasn't for SC's wuss of a QB. When SC had the ball inside UGA's 10 on 4th down, SC's line made the prettiest hole on the left side. Garcia went TO it, but didn't run THRU it. He could've scored easy. Or at least got the first. But instead, he pissed all over himself and threw an incompletion. Can you say SCARED?

I'm not sure who I'm going with either. It's tough because it's in Arkansas and they always play people hard at home. I'm going to go with Georgia now but I might change my mind when it gets closer.

What do you fine folks need?

Ahh...I see....you are skipping North Texas and going straight to Arkansas!

I kid I kid!

It's halftime of the Oakland game and McFadden has 62 yards on 13 carries. I wish we had him back!

So what do you want to know?

We played Missouri State and beat them 48-10. Ryan Mallett played 2 1/2 quarters and was 17-22 for 309 yards. Tyler Wilson came in and was 13-19 for 138 yards. Arkansas set a new school passing record for 447 yards in one game.

Yeah, it was Missouri State. That's why I can't really answer your question. We had the next week off. Therefore, Georgia is our first true test.

Do I think we will beat them? Yes, I do. I have the ability to throw my homer side out the window and use logic to look at the situation. Do I think we will beat Bama and Florida? No, I do not. That's bad logic.

Why do I think we will beat Georgia? It's real simple. We will score more points than they will.

Two years ago I came in here and predicted the Arkansas/Alabama game in the 40's and down to the wire. You guys thought I was crazy until after the game.

Our defense will most likely give up a lot of points in this game against Georgia. Although, they could surprise me.

I wasn't real impressed with the Georgia secondary against South Carolina. Garcia went 31-for-53 for 313 yards and two touchdowns. If he can do that then Ryan Mallett can do better. If Mallett has time to set up in the pocket and not get rushed he will pick this secondary apart.

This ain't Casey Dick guys! Mallett was a 5 star out Texarkana and he has the strongest arm I have ever seen. Period!

If the Arkansas offensive line will give him the time he needs you guys are in for a treat Saturday night. Chris Low said that Arkansas and Ole Miss had the best receivers in the SEC. We had 13 different receivers catch a ball against Missouri State. Yeah, it's Missouri State, but you still have to run a route and throw/catch the ball.

If they try to shut down the pass then Petrino will run the ball. If they stack the box on Michael Smith then he will throw it. Regardless of what they do Petrino will find away to get the ball down the field.

Petrino has prepared for this game against Georgia for a very long time. He admitted they worked on Georgia right before Missouri State. I heard him say at a Razorback Club meeting back in May that the first thing he does when he gets to the office at 6:00 AM is watch 2 hours of Georgia before the day starts. He told us he does that every day.

OK, maybe I sound a little homerish! Who cares! I'm excited about the game Saturday.

I'd find concern there.

Let's assume that Georgia wins. With so much time, and preparation, centered on one game if it's a loss what does that do to the rest of the season.

I've heard coaches say there is a such thing as focusing on one team too much. Is that the case here?

You are right Terry. An Arkansas reporter wrote today that Petrino should not have admitted to the extra preparation for Georgia....
