I just hope they fixed the glitch with HD Intelligence that cropped up last year in the transfer portal player calculations.

I'm sure some fans enjoy this... the team "rebuilding" that goes on every April now. Perhaps it's exciting to them, like a draft, free agency, and signing day all wrapped into a 2 week period. I hate it though. I just want it over with and I'll root for the guys that sign with UA when the dust settles.

This fan does NOT enjoy it. I enjoy team loyalty, team chemistry, and watching a player develop over time.

Tongue in cheek? Otherwise, you've lost me. Or rather, you've found an argument with the Michigan and UConn folks. Hurley will demand a dual at dawn. You know he's not upset with Coulton's group.
 
There's a part of me that wishes there was public access to the portal site. At least, give some of the media the right to see who is in and who is out.

Take Sherrell. On3 reported Monday he was in the portal. Yesterday, or maybe late Wednesday night, TI reports he's not officially in the portal. Then a few hours later, we get word he's now officially in the portal with a "do not contact tag."

(A few weeks ago I heard a few of the stories about "tampering" with Sherrell. Then, during tourney time I heard Michigan was the team behind the contact. BUT, one of Tennessee's big men jump in the portal and UM snatches him up. As a five to go with Sherrell playing four? That made sense.)

Last offseason we landed Bethea, Bowen, Bristow, and Noah from the portal from what I remember. May have missed someone. I could see us getting as far as we did without those guys. Maybe thatā€™s what Brandon is pointing to. Some teams knocked it out of the park with the portal, and then there was Bama.

It was an odd offseason unfortunately. The staff nailed the recruiting class with Allen, Jemison, and Hannah. And were able to get Philon back. Conversely, the portal acquisitions were not the best.

I don't think the staff will strike out like that again. Lot of our transfers from previous seasons usually flourish, minus a couple.

Also a lot of people are freaking out so far considering we haven't gotten a commitment yet. Right now, schools and boosters are going to way go above market value for a lot of these players.

I think that was rock bottom for sure. I hope so. I agree that Oats is a better evaulator than the last transfer class showed. That was just a dud.
 
I think if Alabama gets Wooley, Donnie Freeman, Jasper Johnson (would be a project), and another 5, that'll be a solid portal class.

According to rumors, Cade Philips will possibly commit too. Decent depth piece. Boxes out, plays with high energy, and is physical.

Still think Alabama definitely needs a solid quick PG.

Dedan ... can't pull his last name (too damn many!! Geez.) He was at LSU last season: reported at 2 million there.

Based upon a few just shooting this shit back and forth through text messages and a little surfin' now and then ...I'd say two will be Jasper and Cade.

Take Freeman. Down to UK and Bama, I believe. 10 years ago I'd have called that situation fluid: it's between those two schools. Now? It's gas. Who knows what the wind might bring in at the last minute and two schools turn into four.

This morning, it feels like I'm following an episode of Shark Tank.
