When you look at TBB and AS height and weight, it's almost swap even on the paper with one additional player with similar build but can play 3 and 4, so we basically we just upgraded shooting wise and rebound wise. That's it.

If we get drew fielder, he can play 4 and 5.

It's a positionless game. Oats is gonna want to go with small and big lineup but has room to adjust. If we do get him, I still think we get one more guard and call it a day..

Freeman and Feilder would be two homeruns here. If we can somehow manage to land them both. IMO I like our chances but Kentucky is backing up the Brinks truck for Freeman supposedly.
It's my understanding what Freeman wanted to do on the floor and what Bama had in mind didn't match. Other schools, including UT, are in the mix now.

Also Uconn was in the mix then according to Freeman's camp we're in the top two right now between us and UK at this point. So I'm unsure at the moment on it.

I was under the impression right now he's considering a trip to Bama and it's between us and Kentucky with others pushing for now after Uconn bowed out. We'll see if it changes again.

I have also heard UConn backed off the same time as Bama; likely the same reason. I understand he told the staff he wanted he wanted his role to include playing with the big ones and sliding out to a wing role. Neither Oats or Hurley had that "fit" in mind. That's what I was alluding to earlier.
He was scheduled to visit until what he wanted and what Bama needed weren't the same.

My interpretation of how this is shaping out is both Fielder and Freeman fit what the Tide has been after...Fielder's visit also means Freeman is out.
I've seen a few suggest Tennessee's interest means Freeman is now all about money. With TN, I can see how people would jump to that conclusion. I have my doubts Barnes is looking at "let's out spend 'em" versus his desire to build a solid roster. While I have NO love lost for Tennessee, ol' Rick can coach.
