Saban was a great fit at Alabama...partly because of his coaching style and relentlessness, but also because he really didn't give a rats ass about what other people thought of him and what he was doing. He could/would push back against the fans/boosters when needed.

We will see how Coach DeBoer does in the coming years. I don't think the challenge will be with recruiting kids and/or coaches, but how well he can handle the fans/boosters.

I don't think the style of how he runs his practices will matter much in todays football... these kids come into college pretty well developed and worked. Where it will be important is what coaches he can hire to develop these kids further and to recruit. I think he'll do just fine those two areas.. if not, it'll show up on the field and in the W/L columns.

This is what I expect. Miles was a moron and kept the train moving for 10 years. CKD is a really good coach and once the adjustment to his system kicks in will do well. All of this is relative to the Bama standard.
