| MBB/WBB đźŹ€2024-25 Alabama Basketball Roster Updates (Rutgers transfer Clifford Omoruyi, one of the top big men in the portal, has committed to Alabama)

We had a similar thread last year, and like it, I will update this one with the movement as it happens and next season's roster takes shape. Obviously, all the players in red that are set to return, won't. And others will be added via the portal. But I'll keep this updated and keep track of it as it all unfolds. As always, let me know of any errors/mistakes.

Also, keep in mind, there are 13 scholarship spots available per season. As of now, Alabama is +2 (15 scholarshipped players), which means at a minimum, 2 of the following will not return.

What? Not contacting a big man in the middle? That is what we need.

FWIW, These are just a list of players that have been openly reported to have been contacted. Things will pick up for Bama when their season is done and Oats has a clear(er) picture of what he's going to need for next season. Also, keep in mind there will be other players that hop into the portal... there's a balance (for pretty much all the bigger teams) to try and land guys but also not fill up on a spot when there's the strong possibility of a better player becoming available. In some ways though it can be a bird in the hand type thing...

A part of me wants to see Katie with Muss.
And then, yesterday, I'm still seeing Muss connected to other job openings? (Doesn't look like that'll end up happening.)

Literally, in a span of two days, entertaining the idea of the SEC in '25 with no Muss (hmm, pun there) or Katie?

Which could be a phone call, a letter of introduction, an invitation to camp, an invitation for a visit, an uncommittable offer, a ...

A note in general that apples to all sports, across the board:

If you guys have missed this ... these kids taking "official visits" has lost a lot of its meaning this cycle. When they were limited to five it was easier to get a picture of what they were thinking. There is no limit on official visits for players any longer.

US Betting Report has an article covering how books are starting to lay ODDS and percentages on the destination of some of these guys.

If 'books are starting to publish odds on destinations they may end up being a better barometer than official visits. It wouldn't be too hard to have better coverage on where recruits land than some of the recruiting guys/sites.

Gotta think this game last night helped us with lot of players looking at Bama.

Yep, that was prime time all around the country with folks just laying back watching and see our fight definitely had to catch some eyes and change some minds about Alabama basketball. I'm still smitten right now with what I saw. Been feeling pretty good all day just thinking about that gutsy performance by everyone on the team.
