| MBB/WBB 🏀2024-25 Alabama Basketball Roster Updates (Rutgers transfer Clifford Omoruyi, one of the top big men in the portal, has committed to Alabama)

We had a similar thread last year, and like it, I will update this one with the movement as it happens and next season's roster takes shape. Obviously, all the players in red that are set to return, won't. And others will be added via the portal. But I'll keep this updated and keep track of it as it all unfolds. As always, let me know of any errors/mistakes.

Also, keep in mind, there are 13 scholarship spots available per season. As of now, Alabama is +2 (15 scholarshipped players), which means at a minimum, 2 of the following will not return.

The tweet below sums it up pretty well… and having Nelson and Omoruyi on the floor at the same time (with Nelson playing his more natural position) should really pay off in a number of ways. And I’ll stick with the prediction from weeks ago that the defensive efficiency numbers will be top 10 again to continue the year by year seesaw trend.

All four players are 6-foot-11.

Just my opinion...

People don't like change. And, when people see a school like Kansas lose a recruit, or a school like UNC with their "blue blood" reputation lose to a school ...

Then you add this type of tourney in the mix? 300+ schools are looking up, with jealousy.

I've not spent a lot of time on this, but got down to the basics. A G-league / two way contract is going to pay about as much as he'll get in NIL. I could argue it'll be less.

I don't know which lane he chooses. I do know that the money incentives, for one year, aren't that different.

G League players earn a range of salaries based on their contracts and performance. The standard salary for a G League player is $40,500 per season, with a minimum salary of $7,400 per month

G-league are minor league contracts where it's boom or bust. Two-way contracts are terrible for players and great for organizations, same with the NHL if you get sent to the minors you make 1/10th of what you were supposed to make on your contract in the Pro League. So if he's signing for 850k he would make around 85k in the G-league.

FWIW I'm hearing Bama's current NIL offer is around 750k mark. So unless he's an NBA 1-way guy I don't think he sticks it out in the draft. Nightmare scenario being that he's drafted in the late 50s and is unable to return to college and forced to play in the G-league with a two-way contract.

I don't doubt you. I am hearing things differently. I really wish I could cite my source on this. It goes back to the Christian T-shirt business in Tuscaloosa. (Laughing as I think back...can you tell me the street?)

I'd say he's leaning coming back. But I will say, the staff thinks very highly of Labaron Philon.
