I didn't start playing golf until I was 19 (sadly, I haven't played a round in nearly ten years). When I started watching and paying attention to the PGA, there was this new kid who was my age. He played well, really well, so I started rooting for him. I've been a Phil Mickelson fan ever since. Happy an "old timer" won a major today!

Such a great story, so happy for Phil. I checked in early and then had a frustrating day of plumbing and carburetors, just settling in to watch the aftermath. Koepka’s press conference following his round was a lesson in the self-absorbed pro athlete. Everyone jockeying for a view of the 18th green, and he’s alleging someone was angling to hurt his knee. Good thing they didn’t go for the bottom of the hamstring. He’d quit the game.

Ha Ha, I just read that. Him and his media starving fiancé are meant for each other. This guy loves the camera in his face and then loves to whine and cry. I admit it was a little crazy, but to sit there and say "I felt skittish and felt like people were going for my knee", give me a break dude. You walking 72 holes of golf and the tension caused by a powerful swing is causing more concern than a group of fans running around. He just lost any bit of atta boy I ever had from him. Maybe he needs to go back to being an ESPN Body Issue and focus his attention on that or something.

I've said it before on here, but Phil is the best ball striker I have ever seen. He can hit any shot at any given time and his confidence in doing so is otherworldly. Add in his loveable demeanor around the course and it's hard not to have him high on your favorites list. I'm sure behind the scenes when the cameras off he's cocky as hell and a tad different, but I think he's earned the right to be that way in the game of golf.

That being said, I think Tiger is finally learning this is the way to be as well and has been a lot more pleasurable of an individual to watch.

Not sure about his demeanor off the course, but he does love him some high wager gambling. :)
