I always thought it was called The British Open and they simply call it The Open for short?

Centuries ago they let all that royalty stuff go to their heads. When the sun never set on the British empire America had to run them out of town. They've been full of it ever since. One does get the impression they like to use "The Open" more like a stick in golf than a title. So, "The British Open" it is around these here parts. And the Beatles were overrated.

These countries are apart of the United Kingdom of Great Britain. Now, I would agree that in the United Kingdom everyone knows what the open means, due to location and prejudice. Across the pond, we have one of our own and it's a major as well. Even Jack Nicklaus calls it the British Open over here. Otherwise, he says, "no one would know what I'm talking about."

So far the British Open is playing like the US Open. A seaside course that can't defend itself because there's no wind. Hopefully, things change this weekend. But no Rory. He coughed on his spleen Thursday with a +8. Guess he wanted it too much being the local boy and missed the cut.

He really looks good and the home folks are going to matter. Koepka has got one more day to figure out his putting. Everything else about his game is championship ready.

JT now on page one at -7.....having a really good front 9. Tied at 8th...so far

I must have put a jinx in JT because he sh*t the bed on the back 9 and finished at -3. Tied at 14th so far. He had a triple boogie 7 on #17.

JT made 177k while the winner booked right at 2 million....

I did the same. My son was so excited to see The Open's weather ("This is what an Open should look like! " ). When I mentioned the same about JT finishing in the top ten, BAM! Triple on 17...
