I'd love to see us playing a top 10 team OOC team every year, but with these schedules getting locked in so far in advance it's hard for me to get my cake and eat it too.

Just from a fan perspective "if I had season tickets" I'd want some quality opponents considering the financial costs of attending games these days. But this isn't a problem I have for what its worth.

As someone that forks over thousands to the University, I would much rather see better opponents as well. You know, it's great to play neutral site games here and there, but that would almost double my normal expense if I traveled to those games as well, add in the Playoffs you travel for and you seriously have to be pretty wealthy to attend them all. So for the seven games or so I get tickets to for thousands of dollars as it is I would like to see some decent teams roll into Bryant Denny. The stands look like crap in the second half against most of these teams, so work on building that home court advantage again with some talented opponents. I don't give a shit about a little more revenue from Chick-Fil-A or Advocare to play in a game, because bringing those games home will increase demand and build the local economy even more as I have stated on these discussions. The crowds in those games appears to have declined as well when I watch them on tv.

It would have been the same size paycheck if it was Duke, USC, Notre Dame or Ohio State. Let's take the money and move forward.
Louisville didn't get the same payout as Bama which demonstrates they look at teams differents and change payouts. So, I'm hesitant to believe if it would have been a Bama vs USC/ND/OSU game the amounts would be the same.

Here's what I'll continue to say on this, OP. When Bama faces Duke they're going to be facing a better coached team than half of the schedule next season--at least five other teams. I'd take Cut over Luke, Morris, Martin, Hopson, and Speir. No one is going to claim Duke has more talent than Auburn, but I'd put Cut a few notches above Gus. With the situation Pruitt will still have at UT, now we're looking at Duke being in the top half on the schedule next season.

Understand, I don't care for Cut one bit due to what he's done in the past. But, it doesn't change how well he coaches.

I'm not saying Duke gets the same as Alabama. Only that Alabama gets paid for being Alabama.

The SEC has gotten away from its "only three bye weeks for opponents" rule from a few years ago. UGA, by my count, has five opponents with open dates before they play.

One can be attributed to the extra bye week. They still been dealt a pretty heavy hand from the schedulers--Nov is a tough stretch.

They deserve it after the last four or five years of cakewalks they have had.
