The 2018 Iron Bowl was one for the record books. In particular, the Alabama school record book.

  • Alabama broke the school record for scoring in a season. The Crimson Tide finished the regular season with 588 points, breaking the record of 582 set in 2016.
  • Alabama set a school record for passing yards in a season. The team has passed for 3,985 yards after adding 377 on Saturday, besting the 3,890 yards through the air in the 2014 season.
  • Sophomore quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw five touchdowns and ran for another on Saturday, giving him 41 total touchdowns on the season. That’s the most in school history. The previous record was 36, set by Jalen Hurts in 2016. His five touchdown passes tied a record for the most in a game in school history (Gary Hollingsworth, Oct. 7, 1989, at Ole Miss) and his six total touchdowns were an Alabama record. He also moved into second place on Alabama’s single-season passing list, throwing for 324 yards to total 3,189 yards on the season. The record is 3,487, set by Blake Sims in 2014.
  • Sophomore wide receiver Jerry Jeudy moved from sixth place to third place on Alabama’s single-season receiving yardage list. He entered the day with 1,002 yards and had 77 yards. He also caught his 11th touchdown of the season, second-most in a season in school history, and moved into 10th place on Alabama’s career receiving touchdown list.
  • Sophomore running back Najee Harris became the 60th player in school history to rush for 1,000 yards in his career. He entered the day with 997 yards and picked up his third yard on his third carry of the day, which came in the second quarter.
  • Sophomore wide receiver Henry Ruggs III caught his 15th and 16th career touchdown passes, moving him into a tie for fifth place in Alabama history with Ozzie Newsome.
  • Sophomore linebacker Dylan Moses had nine tackles to give him 100 for his career.
  • Alabama honored 19 seniors in a ceremony before the game. The Crimson Tide’s four-year seniors finished their careers 4-0 against Tennessee, 4-0 against LSU and 3-1 against Auburn. They have won two national championships, two SEC championships and reached the College Football Playoff three times, and can add more accolades this season. They have a record of 53-3, tying them with Alabama’s 2017 seniors for the most wins by a class in FBS history.

I'd really like to see Devonta get another 102 yards receiving this season. I have no idea how this stacks up in the UA record books other than "it can't have happened before."

Five receivers with over 600 yards on the season. Has any team ever done that before?

@planomateo Just looked, he's listed as a split end in 1976 and 1977 but was also the All-SEC tight end... I'm not an expert on the wish bone, so was a "split end" in the wish bone just another name for a tight end rather than what we think of it today?

It means at times Ozzie was split out because he could run, separate, and catch and being a run-oriented wishbone team, at times, he would line up at inside at TE, because he could block and catch. He was a freak of nature wherever he was.

Damien has 819 yards this year including last nights OU game results. Unlikely that he will hit the 1000 yard mark this year. Wish he could have and I guess it is still possible but would take a monster game against Clemson. I would be ok with that...

The SEC Champ. Game kept him from winning that other hardware that K. Murray got. Also this is to Mr. D. Howard, Do you still think he the best one on the field now?
