Sometimes you just can't seem to get out of your own way. You do a few good things, then there's an aw sh(ucks) moment and you lose all that you have gained. That was Bama tonight. It wasn't "lack of preparation" or being "outcoached" or any other hackneyed phrase that fans like to trot out so they can sound like a pundit.
Sometimes you just have butterfingers and the yips, and that doesn't help when you're playing a really good team. The pressure is on, and it gets worse the more mistakes you make. There were some things that Bama did right, but there was also a lot they didn't do in the first 40 minutes. They didn't cover well in the flat. They didn't seal the corners well. They didn't make clutch catches that might have turned the game. Tua didn't get rid of the ball when he should have sometimes.
But there was one thing they didn't do that made all of the difference.
They didn't quit.
These guys are champions. They didn't give up, they didn't play to make it respectable, they were aggressive even when down and apparently out. They played to win, and they cut UGA's heart clean out yet again and waved it in their face while it was still beating.
I don't know if they'll go all the way. Everyone but ND (who is an overrated sack of stuff, and I don't apologize for that opinion) left to play are pretty good teams. UGA and some our fan base learned something tonight that those teams should know, though.
Bama is a pretty good team, too.
